PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology providing the ease of operation
wherein the possibility of wrong operation can be decreased even if an image forming
apparatus can be operated in a copy mode, a facsimile mode, and a scanner mode.
SOLUTION: A mode switching control means shifts to the facsimile mode in a step S4
when a numeral first entered by a ten-key is "0" in a step S2 and the number of total
input digits exceeds the number of digits of an identification number in a storage section
in a step S3, shifts to the scanner mode when the numeral first entered by the ten-key is
"0" in the step S2 and the number of total input digits is equal to the number of digits of
the identification number in the storage section in the step S3, or shifts to the copy mode
when the numeral first entered by the ten-key in the step S2 is a numeral other than the
numeral "0" in the step S2.
