摘要:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a vehicle in changing lanes promptly and
safely while adapting to a vehicle travel state in a lane change ON:
Sections in front and rear of a vehicle which is running side by side with a subject vehicle,
the sections enabling the subject vehicle to arrive thereat in shortest time out of arrival
time required before arrival of the subject vehicle at a position of each vehicle running
side by side, are set as lane change candidate sections (S2). If a section distance Lk
between the lane change candidate sections is equal to or larger than a set value Lth and
an absolute value |Vk-V0| of a relative velocity of the subject vehicle to the lane change
candidate sections is equal to or smaller than a threshold Vth, it is determined that lane
change can be safely executed (S3 to S5). As a result, even in a situation in which the lane
change is difficult to execute from positional relations and velocity differences between a
plurality of vehicles running side by side with the subject vehicle and the subject vehicle, it
is possible to provide prompt and safe lane change assist while adapting to travel states
of the plurality of vehicles running side by side with the subject ED
