EndNote: How to Set up Open URL link
To set up Open URL link, you must first determine the appropriate OpenURL path. If the library
requires authentication, you must also determine the authentication URL.
EndNote X2
In EndNote X2, Go to the Edit menu (or the EndNote X2 menu on a Mac) and select
Preferences. Here, choose Urls & Links. Enter the OpenURL path.
In EndNote X2, you will need to authenticate with your institutions login server outside of
EndNote in your primary web browser, typically Internet Explorer in Windows and Safari on the
Mac.
EndNote X3 and later
In EndNote X3, Go to the Edit menu (or the EndNote X3 menu on a Mac) and select
Preferences. Here, choose Find Full Text. Enter the OpenURL path. If your institution requires
authentication to use the OpenURL Server, enter the path in the "Authenticate with URL" box.
How to determine the OpenURL Path:
The easiest way to determine your institution’s OpenURL address is to ask the
institution's librarian. You could also check

How to determine the Authentication URL:
In order to use the OpenURL path to find full text articles, your institution may require you log in
to access full text. EndNote X3 and later use an authentication URL to automatically direct you
to your institution’s log-in web page.
In EndNote X2, you will need to authenticate with your institutions login server outside of
EndNote in your primary web browser, typically Internet Explorer in Windows and Safari on the
Mac.
Again, the easiest way to determine the authentication URL is to work with the
institution's librarian.
You can locate more full text by setting up your institution’s EZProxy authentication in the
EndNote preferences

In
EndNote X3 and later
it is possible to authenticate and use your institutions OpenURL
server.
To do this, on Windows go to the Edit menu and choose Preferences. On a Mac, go to the
EndNote menu and choose Preferences.
Go to the "Find Full Text" option here, and check the resources you want to use.
If your institution has an Open URL server, put that in the "OpenURL" box.
If your institution has a login page for access to restricted databases, put that in the
"Authenticate with URL" box.
If you entered anything in the Authenticate with URL box, before going to "References->Find
Full Text->Find Full Text.." choose "References->Find Full Text->Authenticate."
You may also need to use this command to re-establish your connection to a subscription
database.
Your institution may sever your OpenURL connection after a certain amount of idle time.
Unfortunately, there is no indication when that happens. You will need to go to the
"References->Find Full Text->Authenticate" to restore access to the site.
Just selecting "References->Find Full Text->Find Full Text.." during this EndNote session will
not restore authentication.

Local settings for OpenURL
There are some changes you should make in your software settings to use the Library's
OpenURL server, which will allow you to search for full-text documents, search Addison, and
link to ILLiad. If you have already obtained a copy of an article, then connecting to the Library's
OpenURL server is unnecessary. It is a handy tool to have available to you, however, and it
will not work unless you make the changes below.
Go to the EndNote Preferences menu and check the OpenURL box and then modify the
existing information in the OpenURL Path box:

Also in Preferences, click on URLs & Links and replace ?sid=ISI:WOS with ?sid=sersol in the
OpenURL Arguments box.
Once you set the OpenURL server, you can easily see what articles are available
electronically by selecting the OpenURL link command.. Assuming there is an article link
available, click there to go the full text and then download the article to your computer. You can
link to the article text using the File Attachments field (References --> File Attachments -->
Attach File). You will then see an icon representing the document type (e.g., PDF, HTML).
Clicking it will start the relevant application that will open the file.

密码，如/login。
z 登入成功后，点击“Continue”后就开始自动查找文献。
