IPHONE QUICK GUIDE
Add Contacts. Go to Contacts > choose + icon in the upper right-hand corner
of the screen > touch First name to enter the contact’s first name > touch Last
name to enter the contact’s last name > touch add phone > enter the contact’s
phone number. You can change the type of phone by touching the words
beside the phone number and selecting another option. You can also add e-
mail addresses, additional phone numbers, and other details in the same
manner > touch Done.
Delete Contacts. Go to Contacts > scroll and touch the contact you want to
delete > touch edit > scroll to the bottom of the screen and touch Delete
Contact > touch Delete Contact again.
Add a Recent Caller or Called Number as a New Contact. Go to Phone >
touch Recents > touch the “i” to the right of the number > touch Create New
Contact and follow the instructions above for entering a new contact.
Add a Recent Caller or Called Number to an Existing Contact. Go to Phone
> touch Recents > touch the “i” to the right of the number > touch Add to
Existing contact > select the name of the contact > the phone number
populates in the next available phone number space of the contact you select >
change the type of phone by touching the words beside the phone number and
selecting another option.
Contacts Settings. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, where you can
change how contacts are sorted, display contacts by first or last name, change
how long names are shortened in lists, choose to show recent and favorite
contacts in the multitasking screen, set a default account for new contacts, or
set your My Info card.
Volume Control. The buttons on the left-hand side of iPhone when you are
looking at the phone adjust the audio volume while you are on a phone call.
Otherwise, the buttons control the volume for the ringer, alerts, and other
sound effects.
Closing Apps. Double click on the O button on the front of the screen. Swipe
upward on each app to close it. This will help save your battery life.
Change Phone Ringtone. Touch Settings > touch Notification > scroll and
touch Phone > touch sounds > scroll and touch the sound you want to select.
The blue check indicates this is the ringtone you have selected. > touch Phone
in the upper left-hand corner and then Notifications to get back to the main

Notifications screen. You can change other notifications from this screen; i.e.,
e-mail notifications, message notifications, etc.
Change Wallpaper. Touch Settings > scroll and touch Wallpaper > touch
Choose a new wallpaper > touch the image you want to choose (if images are in
a folder, you will have to touch the folder and then the image > touch set >
touch the screen you want to set the image to; i.e., home screen, lock screen,
or both.
LED Flash for Alerts
If you are having trouble hearing the sounds that announce incoming calls and
other alerts, you can activate the flash LED (next to the camera lens on the
back of iPhone). This works only when iPhone is locked or asleep. Go to
Settings > General > Accessibility > scroll down to LED Flash for Alerts and
move radio button to on.
Set sound and vibration options. You can change or turn off the sounds
iPhone plays when you get a call, text, voicemail, email, reminder, or other
event. Go to Settings > Sounds > scroll down to Sounds and Vibration Pattern
for options such as ringtones and alert tones, vibration settings and patterns,
and ringer and alert volumes > select the arrow beside the feature to view
options > select a new sound >select store in upper right-hand corner
