[How To] Software (Driver & Application) Install and Update
This document provides the proper install and update steps and also the detailed
instructions for specific software.
Follow the detailed instructions to perform the installation manually, and be sure
not to use any untrusted third-party software installer. Any improper update
methods could cause most unexpected problems, and affect system performance
and its stability.
I. General steps for installing drivers and application.
A. Find the support webpage of the MSI product and download the latest driver
or application.

Find the software description, common FAQ in the “Description” column and carefully read
through the important notice or update note in the “Note” column.
Please go to the next section: UWP application if it presented a Microsoft Store badge.

B. Uninstall the driver/application which needs updating. Skip this step if
performing a clean install.

C. Install the driver/application depend on the file in the installation package
downloaded on MSI website.
Double click the EXE installation file (usually, it’s a ) to start the
installation and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.
For following devices, refer to the instructions in the Knowledge Base link and
install device driver by using “.inf” files.

- FingerPrinter (Elantech)
- Thunderbolt (Intel)
- Touchpad (Synaptics)
- Touchpad (Elantech)
D. Restart the System to apply all settings.
Click Windows icon > Power > Restart
II. Instructions for installing specific drivers and applications
UWP application
UWP application can only be downloaded on Microsoft Store (such as
Nahimic 3, Realtek Audio Control app and Killer Control Center) and they can
only be uninstalled in Windows Settings Panel.
Find detailed instructions for uninstalling UWP application.
