My Fun Trip to the Grand Huangzuan Valley!
Hi everyone! I went on the coolest trip to Huangzuan Valley
last weekend with my family. It was so amazing, I can't wait to tell
you all about it!
Huangzuan Valley is this huge, awesome nature park way
out in the country part of Anhui Province. It's got these giant,
towering rock mountains that look like castles or dinosaur fossils
standing straight up! The whole area used to be under an ancient
ocean millions and millions of years ago. When the water went
away, it left behind all those super neat rock formations.
We had to wake up really early to get there, but it was worth
it. The first thing we did was ride the Huangzuan Valley Coaster,
which is this epic roller coaster that soars high up along the side
of the mountain ridges. I could see everything - it was like flying!
My little brother got a bit scared, but I loved all the
loop-de-loops and feeling the wind rush by. Such a blast!
Next up was the Skywalks, which are these see-through
walkway bridges hung up hundreds of feet in the air between the
peaks. I felt like I was walking on air! Looking down made me a
little dizzy, but it was still the raddest thing ever. We could look
straight down into the valleys and ravines far below. So cool!
For lunch, we had authentic Anhui cuisine at this restaurant
built inside of a giant cave mouth. The stone arches and cliffs
overhead made it feel like we were eating inside the belly of a
rock monster! The food was delicious too - mom and dad let me
try dingshenxiaren, which are these stuffed sticky rice balls that
taste amazing.
In the afternoon, we went on a hike down into the valley
through the rock mazes and stone forests. I loved squeezing
through all the narrow walkways and seeing the strange
honeycomb patterns sculpted into the rock. Our guide told us
how they formed over thousands of years from erosion by wind,
rain and ancient rivers. So trippy!
We also rode a boat along the underground river that flows
through all the caves. The caverns had the most incredible
stalactites and stalagmites everywhere, all lit up in beautiful
colors. Some of them looked like giant crystal dragons or trees
made of icicles! Our boat driver told us about all the Huangzuan
