My Awesome 12th Birthday Bash!
Birthdays are the best days of the year in my opinion. I get to
be the center of attention, get showered with presents, and eat
lots of delicious cake and ice cream. This year was extra special
because I turned 12 years old - finally becoming a pre-teenager!
My parents always make sure to go all out for my birthday
celebrations, but this one might have been the most epic yet.
It all started a couple weeks before the actual day when my
mom sat me down to plan the details. She asked me to make a
guest list of all my closest friends I wanted to invite to the party. I
made sure to include my best buds Mark, Jessica, Emily, and
Jacob. They're the awesome crew I hang out with at recess
playing soccer and basketball most days.
Next, my mom asked what kind of theme I wanted for
decorations and the cake. I had to think long and hard about this
one - there were so many possibilities! Should I go with a sports
theme since I'm such an athlete? Or maybe a video game theme
would be cool. But ultimately, I decided on an outer space theme.
I've always been fascinated by the mysteries of the galaxies,
planets, and stars out in the vast universe. I asked for decorations
with spaceships, aliens, planets, and constellations galore.
The next decision was Location - where should we have this
stellar cosmic party? My parents allowed me to choose whether I
wanted it at our house or somewhere like a trampoline park or
roller rink. As much as those places are tons of fun, I opted to
have the party at home. Our house just has a certain cozy,
comfortable vibe that feels perfect for hanging out with my
closest pals.
In the days leading up to the big day, I could hardly contain
my excitement. Mom and Dad were working hard behind the
scenes to get everything ready. The house was being
transformed with black decorations covering the walls to
resemble the night sky. Twinkling string lights were hung up
simulating glittering stars. They even made these cool planet
decorations that looked incredibly realistic hanging from the
ceiling. It was like we had our own little private galaxy!
Finally, the day of my 12th birthday arrived - Saturday, April
29th. I woke up buzzing with anticipation and rushed to get
dressed. The doorbell started ringing right on time at 1pm as my
