confidence in the country's independent technological research and development.
Many people have noticed a "coincidence," which is that the timing of Huawei's new
product release happened to coincide with the visit of US Secretary of merce Gina
Raimondo to China. It is noteworthy that many of the US' restrictions on China in
the hightech sector are implemented through the Department of merce, and to this
day, there are still hundreds of Chinese panies on their "entity list." Regardless of
Huawei's intentions, the launch of the Mate 60 Pro has been imbued by many

know whether Raimondo has paid attention to these voices during her visit to China,
but we believe that these voices should be heard by her and more Americans, and

First, from initiating a trade war against China to the ongoing tech war, the US,

China. The more brazen and unreasonable their actions bee, the more they

Second, Chinese panies will inevitably break through the blockade and move
forward. This is the result of China's overall development and close integration with
global interests. In this era of globalization, the idea of kicking Chinese panies out of
the industrial chain will only encounter increasing resistance because it goes against
the law of development. The resurgence of Huawei smartphones after three years of
forced silence is enough to prove that the US' extreme suppression has failed. This
also serves as a microcosm of the USChina tech war, reflecting the entire process
and foreshadowing the final oute. Recently, some American media outlets have
been enthusiastic about hyping up things like Huawei is building a "secret" chip
factory. Ultimately, these are all due to a failure to see or a refusal to believe in the

labor was not artificially disrupted, both China and the US can better leverage their

Moutaiflavored latte gets coffee lovers all abuzz
China's top liquor maker Kweichow Moutai and domestic coffee chain Luckin Coffee
have got a hit on their hands with a new baijiuflavored latte released Monday that
quickly sold out in Beijing.
The latte, emblazoned with the iconic Moutai logo, contains less than 0.5 percent
(alcohol by volume) of 53 degree Moutai, and soon became one of the most
discussed topics on Chinese social media with people curious about how traditional
Chinese liquor would taste with coffee.
In Beijing, the Moutaiflavored latte sold out in some Luckin Coffee locations before
midday. And many had to shut down their online ordering system as orders surged.
Staff members at the Luckin Coffee branch near Huixindong Bridge in Chaoyang
district said that the majority of orders they had received on Monday morning were
for the Moutaiflavored latte.
"It seems that people prefer iced latte, so we quickly used up the ice in the branch.
The number of orders is scary," said a barista surnamed Zhang.
She said she had no choice but to temporarily stop the online ordering system at
around 1:30 pm because there were more than 200 orders still to be pleted and
almost all of them were for the Moutaiflavored latte.
People have been sharing their reactions after trying the latte on social media, with
most agreeing that the aroma of the baijiu is very strong. Some people said they
even felt dizzy after drinking the coffee because of its alcohol content.
Some also wondered whether they would be allowed to drive after drinking the latte.
In response, Luckin Coffee stated that underage people, pregnant women, drivers
and those who are allergic to alcohol are advised not to order the drink.
On Monday, an officer from the Beijing Traffic Administration Bureau also asked
people not to drive, no matter how much alcohol is actually in the latte.
In recent years, Moutai has been looking for ways to be more accessible and pull in a
new generation of customers, said Zhu Danpeng, a food and drink analyst.
"By working with Luckin Coffee, which surpasses Starbucks as the largest coffee

As the US publicly backs the Japanese government's plan to dump contaminated
water into the ocean, media reports quoting data from Ministry of Agriculture,
Forestry and Fisheries of Japan revealed that the US was making the biggest moves
in decreasing imports of agricultural and aquatic products from Japan in the first half
of 2023.
Data showed that the US is the country that reduced the imports of Japanese
agriculture, forestry and fisheries the most in the first half of the year, and the main
production areas of the three kinds of food are all in the affected areas of the
dumping of nuclear contaminated water, according to media reports.
In an apparent political gesture, US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel claimed to
eat fish from Fukushima to show support for Tokyo's decision during his visit to the
region on August 31.
Though being wellaware of the risks brought by the nuclearcontaminated water to
surrounding oceans and the entire global environment, the US has succumbed to its
political interests and is going against its image portrayed as a leading role for
environment protection activist, Lü Chao, an expert on Korean Peninsula issues at
the Liaoning Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times on Saturday.
"It is hilarious to see the hypocrisy and double standards held by the US by
covering up Japan's extremely selfish and irresponsible wrongdoing," Lü said.
"Acts and deeds from the US show that it purely considers Japan's act of harming
global environment and human beings of all countries from a geopolitical
perspective. The US's real intention is to tie Japan to its chariot of geopolitical
games," Li Haidong, a professor at the China Foreign Affairs University, told the
Global Times on Saturday.
Without the indulgence of the US, the Japanese decision on dumping of
nuclearpolluted water would not have been so arbitrary. Japan opened a Pandora's
box on Thursday with the strong backing of the US, allowing crisis to plague other
countries and the international munity, Li added.
Amid wide opposition and outcry from the Chinese public that the
contaminatedwater would eventually pose health risks to products from Japan, the
Japanese Embassy in China issued a statement on the Japanese edition page on
Friday, reminding Japanese staying in China of being careful not to speak Japanese

First established around 3000 BC, the ancient city of Liangzhu was the firstever

At a meeting on cultural inheritance and development in June, President Xi
Jinping said China's excellent traditional culture has many important elements that
have jointly shaped Chinese civilization through five prominent features continuity,
originality, uniformity, inclusivity and peaceful nature.
The country's longlasting civilization has been an almost infinite source from which
China has drawn wisdom and strength, enabling it to achieve excellence and create a
magnificent picture of human civilization when collaborating with countries around

Originality contributes to consistency
Over 5,000 years ago, ancient Chinese seeded the roots of the Chinese nation during
the Neolithic period. It is believed that the Xia Dynasty (c.2070BCc.1600BC), the first
dynasty in traditional Chinese historiography, was established in Liangzhu. Now, the
spirit of the Asian Games continues the inheritance of human's civilization in the
same place.
"It would be impossible to understand ancient China, or modern China, let alone
future China, if one does not understand China through the continuity of its long
history," Xi said.
"Prominent consistency is the most distinctive and fundamental characteristic of
Chinese civilization," Wang Xuebin, a professor at the Party School of the CPC Central
mittee (National Academy of Governance), told the Global Times.
Furthermore, the consistency of history does not only refer to the continuity in the
linear dimension, but actually has "a very broad and profound meaning," as it
"plements and integrates with the four other features."
Besides athletics, the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou unmistakably carries ancient
wisdom from the first glance, as it embraces design legacies that speak for the
continuity in Chinese cultural and historical aesthetics.

The Fuyang Silver Lake Sports Center, one of the Asian Games' main venues, was
inspired by China's Yuan Dynasty (12791368) landscape painting Dwelling in the
Fuchun Mountains.
Designers have incorporated the mountain outlines from the classic Chinese art form
into the modern building's silhouette. The facade of the stadium has also been
"painted" with Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, yet through technological means:
Over 34,000 rotating louvers play with the changing natural sunlight to create a
unique visual charm that echoes the euphemistic elegance of the region south of the
Yangtze River.
Architect Yuan Han told the Global Times that classic design symbols like the
"landscape painting" represent the "essence of Chinese taste." They will "never age"
and can continue to inspire modern designs since the Chinese taste was "intrinsically
formed based on the country's long history and civilization."
"Incorporating them in modern designs can expand their cultural value, but
designers need to find a creative ancientandmodern path," Yuan noted.
The Fuyang Silver Lake Sports Center is not the only creative design at the Asian
Games. The three mascots Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen were created to
bine both Hangzhou's "high tech" character with the ancient Liangzhu Culture.

Zhang Wen, the mascots' designer, told the Global Times that the Liangzhu culture's
iconic jade cong (a long square jade tube) inspired mascot Congcong's matte yellow
color, while the blue Chenchen was inspired by the Grand Canal, the world's longest
manmade waterway which runs all the way to Beijing.
Zhang told the Global Times that China's diverse yet deep civilization gave him the
confidence to "remaster traditional Chinese designs but still keep their cultural
genes."
"Ancient Chinese culture has a life force, it can evolve creatively over time," Yuan
noted.
Robert Walker, an Emeritus Fellow at Green Templeton College, Oxford University,
and a professor at Beijing Normal University, told the Global Times that China boasts
a rich history of innovation in art and industry, including silk fabric, ink, lacquerware,
paper, engraving, woodcuts and printing, as well as the amazing continuity in their
use.

"Chinese civilization is inclusive, which fundamentally determines the historical
orientation of the Chinese nation's exchanges and integration, the harmonious
coexistence of diverse religious beliefs in China, and the openness of Chinese culture
to world civilizations," Xi said at the June meeting.
"Exchanges, munication and cultural blending" are three fundamental values that
contribute to the "inclusive" character of Chinese civilization, Xiong Kunxin, a
professor and forerunner of China's national ethics research at Minzu University of
China, told the Global Times.
Xiong said that China's ability to embrace different cultural beliefs has been a
"historical tradition" starting from the "inseparable relationship" between the
country's various ethnic groups. The historical teahorse trade between the Han
people and Tibetan ethnic group during the Song Dynasty (9601279) is a classic
example.
Chinese historian Fang Gang told the Global Times that the Chinese interpretation of
inclusivity is also "graceful and creative." Taking Buddhism as an example, Fang said
that China has never "snatched another country's culture," instead it only embraced
them, making them "localized with our own cultural virtues."

Hangzhou has been an important port of trade and cultural exchange since the Tang
(618907) and Song dynasties. It attracted a large number of monks from Japan.
There were 109 Japanese monks who came to Hangzhou to learn Buddhism and this
has made temples such as the Lingyin Temple and the Jingshan Temple the major
cultural exchange venues by that time.
While exchanging with Japanese Buddhist philosophies, the development of the local
Hangzhou Buddhism blended with China's unique Confucius and Taoist aesthetics.
Throughout history, ancient China showed its inclusive nature while also
implementing various effective measures to promote unity among its multicultural

"Chinese civilization is characterized by strong uniformity, which is why different
ethnic cultures of the Chinese nation are integrated, and can rally close together

Xing Guangcheng, head of the Institute of Chinese Borderland Studies at the Chinese
Academy of Social Sciences and one of the chief editors of the newly published book
History of National Unification in Qing Dynasty, told the Global Times that China, as a
multiethnic nation, has not always maintained a longstanding unified state
throughout its history. Instead, it has experienced cycles of unity and division,
eventually forming its present state.
He emphasized that patriotism is a precious core value of traditional Chinese culture,
while ethnic unity is a profound historical legacy and an important characteristic of
traditional Chinese culture. A strong cultural identity is a distinct historical feature of
traditional Chinese culture, representing the deepest level of identification within
the national Chinese munity.

discussion in Chinese society surpassing the usual buzz surrounding product
launches. As China's tech pany most severely impacted by the US' "chokehold,"
Huawei, after enduring a difficult period of lows, faces the crucial challenge of
resolving the pain point of lacking chips capable of acmodating 5G technology. This
issue is widely regarded as a significant indicator of the pressurebearing capacity of
Chinese tech enterprises in this fiercely contested and suppressed domain by the US.
While Huawei remains extremely lowprofile and hasn't disclosed detailed technical
specifications of the Mate 60 Pro, the excitement and intense attention from
Chinese society regarding the "return of Kirin" highlight a strong anticipation and
confidence in the country's independent technological research and development.
Many people have noticed a "coincidence," which is that the timing of Huawei's new
product release happened to coincide with the visit of US Secretary of merce Gina
Raimondo to China. It is noteworthy that many of the US' restrictions on China in
the hightech sector are implemented through the Department of merce, and to this
day, there are still hundreds of Chinese panies on their "entity list." Regardless of
Huawei's intentions, the launch of the Mate 60 Pro has been imbued by many
Chinese netizens with a deeper meaning of "rising up under US pressure." We do not
know whether Raimondo has paid attention to these voices during her visit to China,
but we believe that these voices should be heard by her and more Americans, and
have an impact on Washington's stance.
First, from initiating a trade war against China to the ongoing tech war, the US,
despite shifting its focus, fundamentally employs hegemonic means to suppress
China. The more brazen and unreasonable their actions bee, the more they
stimulate Chinese society's resilience to stand united and overe difficulties. The
trade war, without a doubt, has proven to be a failure. While the tech war is ongoing
and the US maintains an advantage in the hightech sector, the momentum of the
Chinese people's determination to catch up despite the pressure, and a strong sense
of moral conviction, are something that the US cannot match. This also determines
that while the US' suppression might bring us some troubles in the short term, in the
long run, these "wars" are not ultimately in their favor.
Second, Chinese panies will inevitably break through the blockade and move
forward. This is the result of China's overall development and close integration with
global interests. In this era of globalization, the idea of kicking Chinese panies out of
the industrial chain will only encounter increasing resistance because it goes against
the law of development. The resurgence of Huawei smartphones after three years of
forced silence is enough to prove that the US' extreme suppression has failed. This
also serves as a microcosm of the USChina tech war, reflecting the entire process
and foreshadowing the final oute. Recently, some American media outlets have
been enthusiastic about hyping up things like Huawei is building a "secret" chip
factory. Ultimately, these are all due to a failure to see or a refusal to believe in the
general trend, and they hold on to outdated thinking that Chinese panies'
technology is all "stolen." Essentially, it is Washington's technological arrogance, and
the US will definitely pay the price for this arrogance.
Third, the "war" between China and the US could have been avoided. The
development and growth of Chinese panies and the Chinese market may make some

but if the US stops or partially eases its extreme containment and malicious petition
against China, we certainly wele it. Because of US crazy crackdown against China, the
US has caused unnecessary greater costs and consequences for both China and the
US. The US has disregarded international market rules and principles in core
technologies to choke China's neck, which has severely damaged people's
confidence in global division of labor. If the naturally developed global division of
labor was not artificially disrupted, both China and the US can better leverage their

almost all of them were for the Moutaiflavored latte.

随着杭州为第19届亚运会做准备，杭州市和赛事的举办都体现了习主席在文化传承与发展会议上颇具智慧指出的中华文明的五大突出特征。
During the flame lighting ceremony for the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, 19 flame
collectors dressed in saintly white slowly ascended the steps at the Liangzhu Ancient
City Ruins Park.
Moving forward, one of them lit a torch using a concave mirror that collected the
rays of the sun. Amid the melodious music, actors dressed in ancient costumes
incorporating elements of the Liangzhu Culture converged from all directions,
representing members of the Asian family. Symbolizing peace, friendship and the
belief in an Asian munity of shared future, they formed a procession that
represented all the participants who, guided by the Asian Games' flame, will unite,
strive and pursue excellence.
First established around 3000 BC, the ancient city of Liangzhu was the firstever
regional "state" in China and even East Asia, ushering in the development of a
profound culture.
At a meeting on cultural inheritance and development in June, President Xi
Jinping said China's excellent traditional culture has many important elements that
have jointly shaped Chinese civilization through five prominent features continuity,
originality, uniformity, inclusivity and peaceful nature.
The country's longlasting civilization has been an almost infinite source from which
China has drawn wisdom and strength, enabling it to achieve excellence and create a
magnificent picture of human civilization when collaborating with countries around
the world.

良渚古城始建于公元前3000年左右，是中国乃至东亚第一个区域性“国家”，孕育了深厚的文化。
主席在今年6月的文化传承发展大会上表示，中华优秀传统文化有许多重要元素，共同塑造了中华文明，具有连续性、原创性、统一性、包容性、和平性五个显着特点。
源远流长的文明几乎是取之不尽、用之不竭的源泉，中国从中汲取了智慧和力量，在与世界各国的合作中取得了卓越的成就，共同创造了人类文明的壮丽画卷。
Originality contributes to consistency
Over 5,000 years ago, ancient Chinese seeded the roots of the Chinese nation during
the Neolithic period. It is believed that the Xia Dynasty (c.2070BCc.1600BC), the first
dynasty in traditional Chinese historiography, was established in Liangzhu. Now, the
spirit of the Asian Games continues the inheritance of human's civilization in the
same place.
"It would be impossible to understand ancient China, or modern China, let alone
future China, if one does not understand China through the continuity of its long
history," Xi said.
"Prominent consistency is the most distinctive and fundamental characteristic of
Chinese civilization," Wang Xuebin, a professor at the Party School of the CPC Central
mittee (National Academy of Governance), told the Global Times.
Furthermore, the consistency of history does not only refer to the continuity in the
linear dimension, but actually has "a very broad and profound meaning," as it
"plements and integrates with the four other features."
Besides athletics, the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou unmistakably carries ancient
wisdom from the first glance, as it embraces design legacies that speak for the
continuity in Chinese cultural and historical aesthetics.
独创性有助于一致性
5000多年前，中国古人在新石器时代就播下了中华民族的根基。据信，夏朝（约公元前2070年约公元前1600年）是中国传统史学中的第一个王朝，在良渚建立。如今，亚运会的精神在原地延续了人类文明的传承。
“如果不通过悠久历史的连续性来理解中国，就不可能理解古代中国或现代中国，更不用说未来的中国了，” 说。
“突出的一致性是中华文明最鲜明、最根本的特征，”中共中央党校教授王学斌告诉《环球时报》。
此外，历史的一致性不仅指线性维度的连续性，而且实际上具有“非常广泛和深刻的含义”，因为它“与其他四个特征相辅相成和融合”。

The Fuyang Silver Lake Sports Center, one of the Asian Games' main venues, was
inspired by China's Yuan Dynasty (12791368) landscape painting Dwelling in the
Fuchun Mountains.
Designers have incorporated the mountain outlines from the classic Chinese art form
into the modern building's silhouette. The facade of the stadium has also been
"painted" with Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, yet through technological means:
Over 34,000 rotating louvers play with the changing natural sunlight to create a
unique visual charm that echoes the euphemistic elegance of the region south of the
Yangtze River.
Architect Yuan Han told the Global Times that classic design symbols like the
"landscape painting" represent the "essence of Chinese taste." They will "never age"
and can continue to inspire modern designs since the Chinese taste was "intrinsically
formed based on the country's long history and civilization."
"Incorporating them in modern designs can expand their cultural value, but
designers need to find a creative ancientandmodern path," Yuan noted.
The Fuyang Silver Lake Sports Center is not the only creative design at the Asian
Games. The three mascots Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen were created to
bine both Hangzhou's "high tech" character with the ancient Liangzhu Culture.

建筑师袁瀚告诉《环球时报》，像“山水画”这样的经典设计符号代表了“中国品味的精髓”。它们将“永远不会老化”，并且可以继续激发现代设计的灵感，因为中国品味“是基于该国悠久的历史和文明而内在形成的”。
“将它们融入现代设计中可以扩大它们的文化价值，但设计师需要找到一条创意古今的道路，”袁指出。
富阳银湖体育中心并不是亚运会上唯一的创意设计。琮琮、莲莲、宸宸这三个吉祥物的诞生，将杭州的“高科技”特色与古老的良渚文化融为一体。
Zhang Wen, the mascots' designer, told the Global Times that the Liangzhu culture's
iconic jade cong (a long square jade tube) inspired mascot Congcong's matte yellow
color, while the blue Chenchen was inspired by the Grand Canal, the world's longest
manmade waterway which runs all the way to Beijing.
Zhang told the Global Times that China's diverse yet deep civilization gave him the
confidence to "remaster traditional Chinese designs but still keep their cultural
genes."
"Ancient Chinese culture has a life force, it can evolve creatively over time," Yuan
noted.
Robert Walker, an Emeritus Fellow at Green Templeton College, Oxford University,
and a professor at Beijing Normal University, told the Global Times that China boasts
a rich history of innovation in art and industry, including silk fabric, ink, lacquerware,
paper, engraving, woodcuts and printing, as well as the amazing continuity in their
use.

牛津大学格林邓普顿学院名誉研究员、北京师范大学教授罗伯特·沃克（Robert
Walker）告诉《环球时报》，中国在艺术和工业方面拥有丰富的创新历史，包括丝绸织物、墨水、漆器、纸张、雕刻、木刻和印刷，以及其使用的惊人连续性。
Uniformity and external inclusion
With the approach of the Asian Games, the host city is showcasing its inclusivity
through a series of unified measures with increasing meticulousness and enthusiasm
for all parties involved.
To present a modern and civilized Hangzhou, the Hangzhou prehensive Service
Center for Persons with Disabilities and the Hangzhou Metro initiated a voluntary
service cooperation. Wang Yilin, the deputy director of the center, explained that
through strengthening personnel exchanges and conducting business training, they
hope to unify the learning of professional etiquette and skills for assisting persons
with disabilities. It aims to encourage more individuals with disabilities to leave their
homes and contribute to building an inclusive, fair, and friendly civilized city.
The host city is showcasing many elements of the Asian Games that embody Eastern
culture and aesthetics, allowing the world to see a city that is dedicated to
promoting mutual learning and appreciation of Asian civilizations. This can be seen
from one of the slogans for the 19th Asian Games, "Heart to Heart, @Future," which
reflects the ability of the digital age to connect people from all over the region, and
the Asian Games torch, which incorporates the Liangzhu jade cong and features
humanistic history and natural landscapes. The host city is mitted to showcasing
culture, making the Asian Games a "bridge" to enhance mutual learning and
appreciation of Asian and even global civilizations.
一致性和外部包容性
随着亚运会的临近，主办城市通过一系列统一举措，展现出包容性，对各方的细致度和热情日益增强。
为展现现代化文明杭州，杭州市残疾人综合服务中心与杭州地铁启动志愿服务合作。该中心副主任王宜林介绍，希望通过加强人员交流、开展业务培训，统一学习助残职业礼仪和技能。旨在鼓励更多残疾人走出家门，为建设包容、公平、友好的文明城市做出贡献。
主办城市展现了诸多体现东方文化和审美的亚运元素，让世界看到了一座致力于促进亚洲文明互鉴的城市。这从第十九届亚运会的口号之一“心连心，@未来”就可以看出，它体现了数字时代连接世界各地人们的能力，而亚运火炬则融合了良渚玉琮以人文历史和自然景观为特色。主办城市致力于文化展示，让亚运会成为增进亚洲乃至世界文明互鉴的“桥梁”。
"Chinese civilization is inclusive, which fundamentally determines the historical
orientation of the Chinese nation's exchanges and integration, the harmonious
coexistence of diverse religious beliefs in China, and the openness of Chinese culture
to world civilizations," Xi said at the June meeting.
"Exchanges, munication and cultural blending" are three fundamental values that
contribute to the "inclusive" character of Chinese civilization, Xiong Kunxin, a
professor and forerunner of China's national ethics research at Minzu University of
China, told the Global Times.
Xiong said that China's ability to embrace different cultural beliefs has been a
"historical tradition" starting from the "inseparable relationship" between the
country's various ethnic groups. The historical teahorse trade between the Han
people and Tibetan ethnic group during the Song Dynasty (9601279) is a classic
example.
Chinese historian Fang Gang told the Global Times that the Chinese interpretation of
inclusivity is also "graceful and creative." Taking Buddhism as an example, Fang said
that China has never "snatched another country's culture," instead it only embraced
them, making them "localized with our own cultural virtues."

中央民族大学教授、中国民族伦理学研究先驱熊坤新告诉《环球时报》，“交流、沟通、文化交融”是中华文明“包容”的三大基本价值观。
熊说，中国能够包容不同的文化信仰是一种“历史传统”，源于中国各民族之间“密不可分的关系”。宋朝（9601279）历史上汉族和藏族之间的茶马贸易就是一个典型的例子。
中国历史学家方刚告诉《环球时报》，中国对包容性的诠释也是“优雅且富有创意的”。以佛教为例，方说，中国从来没有“抢夺别国的文化”，而是包容了它们，使它们“融入了我们自己的文化美德”。
Hangzhou has been an important port of trade and cultural exchange since the Tang
(618907) and Song dynasties. It attracted a large number of monks from Japan.
There were 109 Japanese monks who came to Hangzhou to learn Buddhism and this
has made temples such as the Lingyin Temple and the Jingshan Temple the major
cultural exchange venues by that time.
While exchanging with Japanese Buddhist philosophies, the development of the local
Hangzhou Buddhism blended with China's unique Confucius and Taoist aesthetics.
Throughout history, ancient China showed its inclusive nature while also
implementing various effective measures to promote unity among its multicultural
population.
"Chinese civilization is characterized by strong uniformity, which is why different
ethnic cultures of the Chinese nation are integrated, and can rally close together
even when faced with major setbacks. It determines the mon belief that the
homeland cannot be divided, the country cannot be destabilized, the ethnic groups
cannot be separated, and the civilization cannot be disrupted," Xi said at the meeting.
Xing Guangcheng, head of the Institute of Chinese Borderland Studies at the Chinese
Academy of Social Sciences and one of the chief editors of the newly published book
History of National Unification in Qing Dynasty, told the Global Times that China, as a
multiethnic nation, has not always maintained a longstanding unified state
throughout its history. Instead, it has experienced cycles of unity and division,
eventually forming its present state.
He emphasized that patriotism is a precious core value of traditional Chinese culture,
while ethnic unity is a profound historical legacy and an important characteristic of
traditional Chinese culture. A strong cultural identity is a distinct historical feature of
traditional Chinese culture, representing the deepest level of identification within
the national Chinese munity.

中国社会科学院中国边疆研究所所长、新出版的《清代国家统一史》主编之一邢光成告诉《环球时报》，中国作为一个多民族国家，纵观其历史，并不总是保持长期统一的国家。相反，它经历了团结和分裂的循环，最终形成了现在的状态。
他强调，爱国主义是中华传统文化宝贵的核心价值观，民族团结是深厚的历史遗产，是中华传统文化的重要特色。强烈的文化认同是中华传统文化的鲜明历史特征，代表着华人社会最深层次的认同。
Peaceful nature shapes harmonious world
As the 19th Asian Games torch relay continues, the carrying of the flame symbolizes
unity, civilization and peace.
"China is not a culture of the individual. Its success lies in the ability of its people to
work together for the mon good," said Walker.
"Although China already had the world's largest sailing fleet by the time of the Song
Dynasty, it has never sought conquests overseas."
China is mitted to fostering dialogue and munication among different civilizations
and has proposed initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative, Global
Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.
The consistent, original, inclusive, unified, and peaceful nature of Chinese civilization
serves as an inspiration for global cultural exchanges and cooperation, promoting
understanding and mutual respect among diverse societies.
With the glorious lighting of the Asian Games flame in the city which has readied
itself with traditions of hospitality and modern facilities for the Games, Hangzhou
will witness another event where China will continue to strive for a shared future
based on mon values, fostering a harmonious world where different cultures can
flourish together.
和平的自然塑造和谐的世界
