Record a video
1. To get started, open the LCD screen.

3. The camera should automatically turn on. If it doesn’t, press the “Power” button to turn the
camera on.
4. Gently remove the lens cap by pulling out on the lens.
5. Position the camera where you want to record. You can flip the LCD display to show you what
the camera is recording.

7. Press the “Menu” button in the top left corner of the screen. Then navigate to “Image
Quality/Size.” Ensure the “Dual Video REC” feature is on. If it is, click the “X” in the top left
corner of the screen and navigate to “Shooting Mode.” Now select “Movie” to record a video.
8. Next, press the red button in the bottom left corner to begin recording OR, if you are using the
remote, press the red button on the remote to start recording.
9. Record a test video to ensure the video looks and sounds like you want it to. You can zoom in
and out by pressing the “T” (zoom in) or “W” (zoom out) on the screen or on the remote.
View a recorded video
1. Press the “Menu” button on the top left side of the screen. Then, press the “Playback
Function” button on the bottom left of the screen. Next, choose “Event View” and select the
date you recorded on. Then, press the image of the video you want to watch.
2. You will have the option to play, stop, fast forward, rewind, and delete the video, so be careful
to pick the correct icon.
Delete a video
1. Delete your video by clicking the menu button on the camera.
2. Navigate to the “Edit/Copy” button.
3. Select “Delete.”
4. Choose between specific files (“Multiple Images”) or the date you recorded on (“All in Event”).
5. Select the images/event you want to delete. Then click “OK” in the bottom left corner of the
screen.
Upload your video to your computer
1. Go to /www/disoft/int/download/playmemories-
home/win/en/ (Windows) | support.d-
/www/disoft/int/download/playmemories-home/mac/en/ (Mac) by clicking
the link or copying and pasting the link into your browser.
2. Follow the instructions to install the program. Use the settings recommended by Sony.
3. Disconnect the USB cable from the handle and use the USB extension cable to connect the
camera to your computer.

4. Open the PlayMemories Home application when it has finished installing. Then click “Import
Media Files.
5. Take note of the location the file will be imported to and then click “Import.”
6. Find the location the files were saved to. There should be a new folder with the date as the
title (MM-DD-YYYY).
7. Hover your mouse over the file. The MP4 file is the one you need to use when viewing your
video on the computer and uploading your video to D2L.
8. Your file has now been saved to your computer. Disconnect the camera by clicking on the USB
icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
