a partner, look at language notes.)

3. Teaching Difficulties:

1) How to improve the students’ listening and speaking ability by listening in and speaking out;

2) Mastering the ability to understand the main idea and grasp important details of the listening;

Teaching Methods : student-oriented communicative teaching, presentation, discussion,

interaction, etc.

II. Teaching Procedures

2.1

Warm up

Ask students to open their books. Elicit the unit title. Ask students what they think about

when they hear the word nature. Point out that nature is basically anything not made by humans.

Have the class brainstorm words related to nature (some examples: outside, green, trees,

mountains, peaceful, animals, etc.)

If necessary, elicit or explain the meaning of outdoor activity. Explain how the verb go is

used with outdoor activities. See Language Note. On the board, draw two columns with the titles

Outdoor Activities and Indoor Activities. Elicit examples of each.

Have students work in pairs to discuss the questions. Tell them to support their answers with

examples and details.

Have each student report to the class their partner’s answer to one of the three questions. Tell

them to choose the most interesting answer to share with the class.

LANGUAGE NOTE

The suffix -ship, used in the word friendship, shows the state or condition of something.

Other words that use the suffix -ship are: relationship, membership, intermship.
