School Changes in Recent Years
School has changed a lot in the past few years, and some of
these changes have been really exciting! When I first started
elementary school, things were quite different from how they are
now. Let me tell you about some of the biggest changes I've
noticed.
One of the most obvious changes is the technology we use
in our classrooms. When I was in first grade, we didn't have any
computers or tablets in the classroom. We had to write
everything by hand in our notebooks and read from physical
books. Nowadays, every student has an iPad that we use for a lot
of our classwork and assignments. We can access digital
textbooks, take notes, and even submit our homework
electronically. It's so much more convenient and eco-friendly
than using a ton of paper!
Another significant change is the way our classrooms are set
up. In the past, all the desks were arranged in neat rows facing
the front of the classroom, where the teacher stood and lectured.
Now, our classrooms have a more flexible seating arrangement.
We often work in small groups, and the desks can be moved
around and combined to facilitate collaborative learning. The
classroom feels a lot more interactive and engaging this way.
The school campus has also undergone some major
renovations. We used to have an old, rundown playground with
rusty swings and a cracked basketball court. But a couple of
years ago, the school installed a brand-new, state-of-the-art
playground with all sorts of fun equipment, like a rock-climbing
wall, a zip line, and a massive sandbox area for building and
digging. The playground is also shaded by a big canopy to
protect us from the sun. It's such a cool place to play and hang
out during recess!
Our school library has been completely transformed, too. It
used to be a small, cramped space with outdated books and dim
lighting. Now, it's a spacious, modern library with plenty of
natural light and cozy reading nooks. They've also added a ton of
new books, including a large selection of graphic novels and
manga, which a lot of us students love to read. The library even
has a dedicated technology section with computers and coding
resources.
